To conclude the school year, Years 7 to 8 students participated in an Innovation Lab Program in partnership with Swinburne University of Technology's Innovation Coaches last week. Students had the opportunity to foster curiosity and expand their critical, creative and strategic thinking through hands-on activities, relating to the 2023 UN International Women’s Day – Cracking the Code: Innovation for a gender equal future. To facilitate the design-led innovation process, the following sessions took place over the course of three days:

  • ‘What is’ explores current reality (identify, understand and define problem to work on)
  • ‘What if’ envisions a new future (write a design brief, ideate solutions)
  • ‘What wows’ makes some choices (develop concepts; create and test prototypes)
  • ‘What works’ brings a solution to life (final refinements to preferred solution)
  • Entrepreneurship (drafting a business model using the Business Model Canvas)
  • Innovation Showcase (business pitch and Solution Expo)
