Last week, our Year 8 students finished off their Science classes with an engineering challenge. Students designed and constructed a chair entirely from cardboard and Makedo kits, which contained screws, nuts and bolts. Several of the chairs were able to hold the weight of their class teacher. An immersive, creative and open-ended experience was had by all, where students were the protagonist in a hack-able world of their own making.
